One of the newer Scarborough events is the annual Scarborough Jazz Festival. From 26th – 28th September 2008 local residents and leisure breakers will be in for a treat.

Now into its 6th consecutive year, the weekend begins at 7pm at the Scarborough Spa with the “Laura Fowles Quintet”. Followed by “Cubana Bop” and the evening closes with the “Stan Tracey Octet”.

The weekend continues on Saturday with sets from “Voice of the North Jazz Orchestra”, “Alan Barnes Liquorice-Stick All Sorts” and “Martin Taylor” to name a few. The final day opens at 12.30pm with “Brass Draw” and the final act closing the 2008 Scarborough Jazz Festival is Dennis Rollins’ “Badbone & Co”.
