VISITORS TO EXPERIENCE A TASTE OF EUROPE AS CONTINENTAL MARKET RETURNS TO SCARBOROUGH

The Ever Popular Continental Market Returns to Scarborough this Weekend

Guests staying at The Royal Hotel in Scarborough this weekend will have a chance to experience a taste of European fare as the ever popular Continental Market returns to the town this weekend.

40 market stalls are expected to line Westborough, in Scarborough’s town centre, over the duration of the bank holiday weekend.

In an article on the Scarborough’s Evening News website yesterday, Town Centre manager Malcolm Hall, who helped organise the event, is quoted as saying: “The Continental Market has become a real favourite, not only with the locals but with visitors too. In turn it helps the businesses in Scarborough and boosts the local economy.”

The market will be open from Friday to Monday and is expected to include a wide variety of stalls selling items such as cheese, cakes, wooden toys, leather, sweets, olives, soaps and lavenders, dried meat sausages, vegetables and fruit, biscuits and cakes, jewellery, mustards and jams and Belgian chocolates.

The market is due to return again in July as part of Scarborough Fayre, which will take place from Monday 21st July until Sunday 27th July. The Fayre provides top class street entertainment for all the family with stilt walkers, jugglers, children’s entertainers, face painting, street theatre and music.
