11th Feb 2009
Our Scarborough hotel will host a series of musical events as part of the Coastival arts festival this weekend.
The Royal Hotel Scarborough welcomes seven performances from Friday to Sunday.
On Friday, from 1pm to 2pm, jazz duo Matthew Postle and Dave Morecroft will perform at the venue.
The following day features Footnotes, a York-based Barbershop Quartet, from noon to 1pm, Blackout, a jazz and popular music trio from 1pm to 2pm and Scarborough Poetry Workshop from 2pm to 3pm.
On Sunday, Tourte Quartet from York University will perform from noon to 1pm, Bright Cecilia will play a selection of medieval, renaissance and baroque music from 1pm to 2pm and the Zamar Gospel Choir will entertain from 5pm. All the concerts are free except the Zamar Gospel Choir.
Coastival organiser Wendy Clews told the Scarborough Evening News: “Part of our aim for Coastival was to get the arts out into different locations in and around Scarborough and we are delighted that The Royal Hotel Scarborough has joined in and agreed to host these music sessions. I hope they are well supported at the hotel.”
